Eurobase Consultancy has successfully concluded a project for Hill & Abbott, the UK-based law firm, which resulted in the creation of a remote access link to its internal systems for selected business partners.
Hill & Abbott specialises in commercial, private, family, personal injury, conveyancing and employment law. Based in Chelmsford, the company has been a customer of Eurobase's SmartSourcing IT Helpdesk service since 2001.
Following consultation with Eurobase in which all key options were considered, Hill & Abbott elected to implement a secure VPN remote access solution and centralise the IT administration facilities to reduce ongoing costs. The chosen solution will enable the firm to upgrade and expand the remote access capability in relation to the user population.
Hill & Abbott appointed Eurobase to provide strategic consultancy on the project, a key consideration of which was to ensure good response times for remote users together with appropriate security.
The technical solution is based on Microsoft Small Business Server with Windows Terminal Services, and a bonded-ADSL facility that allows the individual capacities of up to 4 ADSL lines to be combined for one connection.
